I sort of understand the guy's primarly complaint here (I'm going to ignore the added yuppie comments as they're causing many laughs on the board). The forecasting trends seem to usually follow a consistently erroneous pattern....waves are forecasted larger as you go further out in time and then the waves get smaller as you get closer to current day. That's not just this sites forecasting problem, but Magic Seaweed and other sites as well. Its rare that an knee high day that is forecasted 3 days out, turns into a chest high actual day. At least its relatively consistent trend of over-optimism on wave size which leads me to believe they actually could do a better job of adjusting the forecasting trends further out in time. 3-5 day forecast....whatever the bouy and weather data computes the waves "should be"..adjust downward in size by 1-2 ft. (unless you're already getting ankle to knee high data projections 3-5 days out then just leave it as/is obviously)

Man, that pic of OC MD just brought a tear to my eye. I know its only a chest high one, but damn. I wish I was sitting in that line-up, or lack there of... =( I do miss the shorebreak barrels. Ill be back in the fall for a few days. Hopefully I will score.

how do you know that the optimism wasn't warranted-- maybe you just hit the wrong spot at the wrong window

Good point. Last weekend we surfed two different spots about 3 blocks apart. One was bumpy and sideways, the other was clean and lining up. Some how even the water was warmer in one spot. Maybe we were surfing an alternate universe break.
