LINK...any type of surf can be fun...not sure if you're looking to surf something on-shore though or don't have a vehicle--if not just go out. North Jersey will likely be a bit cleaner...

Ummmm, yesterday was "supposed" to be good in the afternoon, it sucked.
Tuesday was "supposed" to be near flat bs, it was chest-head tubes and sh!t.
The forecast (nothing wrong with having one) and the ocean owe you nothing!!!
You see a bump a few days out? Keep your eyes peeled!!!
You see flatness in the forecast? Keep your eyes peeled!!!
It can go either way, always and for ever!!! If you're in search of something so definitive and infalable, your in the wrong sport.
Show some respect for the powers that be!!! None of us have control over what happens on Saturday!!! Sure, it would be nice to know, but logically we can't, until we arrive in that moment. It's a pipe dream, just like it's my pipe dream that some of you will aventualy understand how stupid this type of conversation is!!!

I think there should be infraction points for talking about a swell before it happens.

Nan 16, don't mind these guys.

It seems you haven't been around NY for too long, so I'll give you a little tip, even though Fitz might get mad at me.

Whenever there's strong onshores or sideshores, go to Coney Island/Brighton Beach. It's shielded from most directions of wind, so it's usually much more glassy than Rockaway/LB/NJ.

The waves might be marginally smaller, due to the tidal harbor effect. Fortunately though, we get windswell up here, which makes it to all shores, because it is caused by local weather.

If you take pics, don't post them online. The Brighton crew keeps things locked up pretty tight. Just follow good etiquette and you'll be fine... Buen Viaje

I Went out in northern Moco around 3. Battled south winds, lightning, and current for an hour and then...it turned on. I guess like 4-6pm was the time, it was really fun. It seemed to be fading but a thick chest high set would occasionally come through. Hopefully tomorrow early will still have some pulse.

No. It would have to be huge and out of control everywhere else.

Surfing is like Fight Club. And the first rule of Fight Club, is that you don't talk about Fight Club. This forum needs to disappear.
