Sea Isle City & surrounding areas sufr

I am renting a house in Sea Isle in early Sept with the family. I've never surfed south of Brigantine so I don't know much about he surf scene/breaks but have heard that OC can be good. I was wondering if there is good surf in Sea Isle City (preferably) or any other areas close by.

I'm sure OC is probably the best bet but I think it's a 20min drive each way so although I may be able to check this out at some point but I will probably be limited to something closer most days.

sea isle actually can get pretty good, if you find the right spot. it's been a while since i've surfed inside sea isle's actual city limits, so i'm sure the sand has shifted around & changed the breaks.
oc gets good as well, but the south end is very swell-angle dependent. too much east & an outer bar starts to show at low tide & mixes it up pretty badly. the outer bar has been rideable on bigger swells, tho.

yeah sea isle is pretty good depending on swell and wind direction. There are plenty for other beaches in the area Such as WW , AV SH OC & CM.

Let me know when you are in town.

Sea Isle is definitely not one of the better towns for surf. There are a couple spots that break ok, but for the most part its not that great. Avalon blocks a lot of the south swell from Sea Isle. You end up getting a lot of double waves that break, which is pretty f-ing annoying. usually if the report is for 3-4' surf, you can almost be guaranteed knee to thigh high. that good. The one good thing about it is you dont the crowds, although 1 or 2 spots can get a crowd. The one good thing about september is no lifeguards, so you will be able to surf wherever you want. Ive definitely caught some real fun days in Sea Isle especially during some hurricane swells, but just expect it to be quite a bit smaller than everywhere else. Like a few other people said, you have OC and Avalon right next door if its no good in Sea Isle. And if all else fails, you can go to the Carousel for a couple cold ones.
