I lob cannon ball jellies at touron surfers. I don't hit them... it just freaks them out that I'll pick them up then toss them in their general direction.
How have you never seen a fish while surfing in NJ? In the fall you can see miles of fish. Bass and blues busting on bunker every morning band evening.... and there were whales and dolphins just off the beach for 2 months last fall... dat weed got you blind.
cant really say I'm out there looking for fish lol, waters real murky, all I know is I never had any run ins that I could see.who knows I could of had some stuff float by but I couldn't tell. always wanted to see a whale breach or some dolphins or something, and out of all the times I was in the water,on the beach fishing,or just chilln on the beach I neva saw anything.when I fish all I do is watch the horizon for some action, but never happens.i got bells for my poles lol, youd go insane staring at the pole the whole time
I had a 3ft shark swim up next to me today. He was just hanging out and then when we were inches apart he swam off. I was calm but prepared to punch his ass if need be. Not trying lose any fingers or get stitches.
Cep- its definitely weird you've seen nothing. Not seeing something big or out of there ordinary... ok. But i mean here in NY you got fish jumping out of the water all the time. Close enough that you can't help but see them. I got another story. I was out surfing. Pops was on the beach doing his thing taking pictures. On my last wave i took it all the way in. Wasn't even a wave anymore on the inside but the LB just kept trucking. Any way my pops snapped a picture. Later we are looking at them when we see that picture. Something was in the water behind me. At first it looked like a foot, like as if someone was duck diving. But there was no wave to duck dive. After zooming in we realized it was a fin following me. Not sure what it was exactly, but it was fairly big judging by the fin.
My cousin was actually bit a few times by sharks in Central Florida. He's been dead 10 years, so I forget how many times it was. Either 2 or 3. They were little sharks though, not sure exactly what kind but they were those little guys that are really common in Central Florida. He wasn't badly injured on either and only had an ever so slight scar from one of them. One Summer when I was visiting as a teenager, he got really drunk with his friend who was visiting and wound up hurting himself. I remember coming downstairs and sitting on the screened in porch one morning before sunrise. When the sun came up, I noticed blood stains and broken glass from a bottle in the corner. When he woke up that morning, he had a huge gash on one of his arms. He must have dropped the bottle and broke it and tripped and cut himself. He joked that it was a shark bite haha. It left a much bigger scar than his shark bites.
