Not sure I have ever seen a fall like this. There has been a rideable wave for the last 2 months but the wind has been crap 99% of the time on Delmarva. It's gotten to the point that as I walk out of my house and hear the roar of waves I don't even check and just grab my fishing pole. Anyone else having this experience?

The summer was strange too. We had every kinda wind except the usual southwest. It was mild, comfortable and lots of little waves. I fear the brutal winter we had last year might make a return.

Last winter sucked. Clean 30min before dark, clean through the night, choppy when the sun appears.

For sure. Saturday at the-place-that-shall-not-be-named had decent energy in the water but was not a good time with that relentless 20 kt N wind, + on gusts.

I've been discussing this with my buddy on a daily basis. Today, I freakin cracked and just started yelling at the elements. I am thankful for the surf, but man I would take knee high and clean over this. AS much as I like those big NE days, man they aren't even all big when we have been getting NE. Furthermore, how about the swells stacking up such as longer period and the windswells. If only I could trade the masked swells for when it is flat so there is no flat ya hear? hmm mmm

Here is an example…I get off work on Saturday around 1. I go straight to the beach, its sunny, offshore and knee-thigh with a random waist. I get an hour in, wind goes NNW at 15 kts, sectiony as hell.

I understand this is not a prime place to surf and thankfully it has not been flat. I am surfing a lot…guess I shouldn't complain…

All I can say is once we get some good lines, it will be so appreciated.

I feel like the Russell Crow in the South PArk where he rides Tugger the Tugboat, goes to beat cancer, can't so he finds a guy with cancer and beats him. I suppose I should take my frustration out on a meteorologist because of the winds. WHere's Jim Cantore…

OK, I'm calling out Jim Cantore. Dude, you ruined the fun lines I am entitled to. My generation feels entitled, I don't think I am but I am getting on the bandwagon now. Seriously, not happy Jim. PM me and meet me at my break. Prior to battle, we will evaluate the situation. The buoy will say 5 @ 9 out of the SE but the wind will be NNW and I will seriously bust a tit.

    Yeah, these winds man...

Yeah its definitely been way more NE wind than usual for this time of year. Today was just about dead calm after work. Clean and chest high from Fay.

Your welcome to come up and have at it. Pretty sure you would walk away dejected. If not your either a complete beginner who's frothing in a bathtub or your completely blind.

I feel your pain Zippy and I empathize. We're fortunate up here in regards to wind direction.
