for water scientists and others does anyone else hear a loud deep base drum sounding thud when a good size wave is breaking?
When it breaks on their head? I have been out in OC on a big dumping day and it feels like the ocean shutters when the wave breaks.
On those bigger hollow days, when hood-less it kind of sounds like thunder cracking to me. When up close at least. That’s not very often though.
im serious man when they r bigger and faster than normal,not on normal windswell days I hear a thud right before they break sounds like a drum,,like Monday winds were offshore was about stomach high and each wave would like fizzle like a tsssss as it crested then boom/pow when it broke
