i'm trying to get up the nerve to use my 4/3 tmrw.
last time i thought i was there i wussed out right away.

 

Ditto on the 4/3 this wknd, def by next wknd.

 

the water temp says YES.
the predicted wind velocity says NO!

prob decide based on available sunshine.

 

Oooof... I'm not even thinking about the 4/3 until my thumbs stop going numb after an hour.

 

everytime i dress up like michelin man its the only thing I CAN think of...

 

May be nothing but I'm jonesing to get wet and I'm on call next week and we're OOT the next weekend. So screw it, I'm going. Lil one is going to. She ready to put her new westuite to use.

 

Im debating whether my 3/2 is too much...ha.

 

Just got out of the water @ Delmarva. 2.5 hours of fun little waves - way less than the forecast. Definitely 4/3 with the water coming up into the 40s nearshore and air temps in the 60's.

Saw a crazy guy paddle out and catch a few waves without booties or gloves. He didn't last long!

 

how is it too cold for a 4/3? I had one on today and was fine.

 

I'm more concerned about the windspeed. Offshore or not, 25 mph is a bit much. Hoping that's over forecasted. I don't think the size will come in as predicted for monmouth with that hard south angle, but you never know. I think solid chest could be likely, which works for me.

I love extreme south angled swells though, they can setup so nice. I'm excited.

 

Today was the coldest water I've ever been in. I layered and was in my 4/3. I was comfortable but not used to surfing in water below 45 degrees. I'll try again tomorrow and hopefully get over the psychological block!

 

What wrong with 25mph off shore wind? That's some of my fav conditions!

Anyways- was out today in south moco with my 4/3 and was fine! Water is still freezing- actually after about 1.25 hrs I could start to feel my thieghs getting a little cold- other wise was warm. BUT it's a new 4/3- no leaks of anything... If it was my old 4/3 I would probably have gotten cold...

 

I agree H20, I'm f*ckin excited! I'm hoping for a recap of last Friday with harder offshores. And a lesser crowd.

Wow, looks better than what I had, but it was fun. Made a last minute dash to the beach. Glassy waist high windswell. I will take it though. Oh yeah, I trunked it! 69 degrees.

 

i went with the 5/4; other guys out said they were ok in the 4/3.
i think the high winds favored the 5/4.
