I'm shaping a fish for myself but it would like to get some insight on what you guys think about bottom contours. It's going to be about 5'7 and 20.5 wide.
    Thanks

Slight single. Small boards dont need much in the way of bottom contour. Maybe a hint of V.

Single into double concave with 7 channels and a slight V throughout.

nice.... I likes.... how about single double into belly channels, micro channels out the back with a spiral v mixed in and a hot dog saying "hiya buddy" airbrushed on it?

If its the first board you are shaping...keep it flat and focus on the rails and overall plan shape.

If you feel as if you really want a bottom contour...then I would suggest a slight vee. No need to over complicate things...especially with a fish.

Yeah don't start messing with the bottom too much on your first board, It can go bad fast.

A nice amount of vee from the fins to the tail will help you go rail to rail.

I concur on the flat w/Vee, my Coil Flashback Fish is flat with a bit of Vee out the tail. Actually it also has the "dimples" Rcarter mentions too, but it's called "kick" not dimples (tomato tomatto). It's an amazing board, but i wouldn't recommend experimenting with the dimples until you know what you are doing, these guys are like scientists so they got it right, but so many others (professionals) have gotten it wrong in the past.
