I thought there was a study that showed sharks don't like the color yellow or are more prone to attack that color
"You may be familiar with the phrase, which is associated with the myth that sharks are more attracted to yellow. In actuality, it's not so much the color yellow itself but that in the water it is a high contrast color. Sharks see contrast particularly well, especially in murky waters, so minimizing brightly colored or patterned equipment may help reduce your level of contrast in the water"

I've never heard of "ciguatera" before, sounds very Riqueno to me. Kinda like "wawa" for "bus", and "pinga" for...well, you know.

I am familiar with the yellow thing. However, I always remain skeptical about "studies" done with no controls; I have not read the study so I truly do not know. I am just parroting what I learned eons ago, in another time zone, in another galaxy, I suppose.

F*ck a shark! They fear me! Or maybe I'm too old and tough for their taste. Sorry 'bout the kid though.
