One of my buddies saw an 8-10 footer lurking by the pier. Big enough to make everybody get out...

I've seen a couple sand sharks the last few days, but that didn't seem newsworthy. Except the one that bumped a guys leg next to me. that was funny. 8-10' sharks ain't funny.

I was oot a bit north of there on Sunday and I heard some shark talk. Yeah, I actually was in The Pack for awhile. Sounded like there was one earlier or something. I don't know.

What kind of shark, Moondoggin? Any idea? Makes a world of difference.

    10 foot bull in Jersey....nah.

    Tiger...nahhh.

    White? Maybe........

Mako, tell them they are supposed to be well-offshore hassling fishermen. Or vice versa.

Hey 75 F water temps come with a price...

Nothing's free in Jersey except housing, money and food.

Where he was(Ventnor?)? Or somewhere near?

I like Mattnjsurf, he straight-up lists Ventnor Pier as his location. While everyone else, shields their locations. I have to know where you guys are from when I deal with y'all. It makes a difference.

I applaud your bravery. Most people run from even small sharks.

Ahh, I only worry in February, for some reason, on desolate days.

Plus, I'll most likely survive and then I'll get pills.

I saw him breach the water in the morning and I knew it wasn't a dolphin. No one else saw so I didn't make any commotion but my balls were tingling for a bit. Even saw a baby seal last week following my leash around

    A seal in the summer?

Could of been a recently birthed white. They breed not to far north of you. Ax that dude at The Marine Mammal Stranding Center. He'll tell ya.

Ok, be safe out there Matthew. Remember, sharks sense fear.

How's the old pier breaking these days? I used to surf there here and there when it was big and moody. Usually a good little "channel" next to the pier to paddle out. You know what I am saying?

The pier doesn't provide the best waves, but for me I like the local vibes because the same people are always surfing the pier so it's always fun. The waves were fun 3-4 peaks morning till about 1 pm sunday

I saw 2-3" of dorsal fin out in OCNJ on Sunday. Was surfing to the right of the jetty on 6th St. Dude was fishing out there which I suspect attracted the little bugger. He left me and my buddy alone but another dude got bumped. First time I've knowingly co-existed out there with them. I hope it stays that way.

Saw a pretty healthy sized dorsal fin - like 10" to 12''- come up about 30 feet away from me in northern Ocean Co. last Thursday morn. First I thought porpoise cause it had that chocolate brown color but then it came up a second time and the fin was definitely much different than a porpoises - very slender- plus the tail fin came up too. It showed no interest in us so I hesitated before getting out - it just kept cruising north. But then I got out for about 30 minutes to give it a chance to clear out and then went back in and never saw it again. It does play on your mind while your sitting out their.
