went 30 miles of the coast off R.I yesterday! chummed the water for 2 hrs and then several blues and one mako came in! got close and personal with the blues, touching several of them! kept my distance from the mako, maybe 5 footer! there was a platform and a cage but chose to just swim with them with mask and snorkel! very majestic creatures who seemed to have no interest in attacking anyone! besides having kids it was the most exciting day of my life! hope to have a video soon, need daughters help! thought id share this amazing adventure! another pirate smile all the way home! hope everyone has a safe 4th, PEACE!

That sounds like a rush, RD. I've snorkeled and dived with reef sharks and black tips, nothing big like a tiger or mako or bull.

I'm not a fan of changing their behavior by feeding them, then diving with them. They may get too riled up. There are enough sharks out there that you can encounter them diving without having to chum them. Remember, the most predicable thing about them is their unpredictability. Several shark diving operators down here have gotten bit, after years of professing how safe it is.

Good to hear you made it back intact.

I did that with black tip reefs, it was a very cool experience.
