Does anyone know what ship or type of ship has been hanging off the coast today? IMG_1240.jpg IMG_1239.jpg

check marinetraffic.com Everything is on there if it's commercial and bigger than a lobster boat pretty much.

    Very cool site.

It's not often that I see those by me in Manasquan or even in Belmar. When I've been surfing up in Long Branch or somewhere closer to the northern part of the state's coastline, I see all kinds of huge ships like that. Sometimes cruise ships too, since a lot of commercial ships/cargo, cruise ships, etc, are going into New York and Port Newark/Port Elizabeth. I see them down by me sometimes though. Go up to Sandy Hook and you'll see a bunch of them making their way to the city and North Jersey.

    Holy Scheisse!

You got a schedule for when they pick up off the Jersey coast? I'm pretty frickin pale right now, but I can use a tanning bed if required? Haha.

I used to surf Sandy Hook once in a while and it was fun to look out and see all the watercraft and get the view of Manhattan, at least on clear days with good air quality/visibility.

When I lived up in Bergen County still, my roommate and I would take a drive there to surf, as it's the closest ocean beach to North Jersey. Then you realize that Manasquan is literally only 10 more minutes of driving time one way than Sandy Hook and we stopped going there often.
