Hey yeah I know another board question thread...awesome.

I'm heading off on my honeymoon in 2 months and I am planning on getting a new board. Flying out to Oahu and Spending a week on the south shore and a week on the north shore. As of now my go to board is a Chemistry Flash Point 5'8 x 18.5 x 2-3/4 it works like a charm here in NJ where we deal with varying conditions but it seems to top out in anything over head high.

Anyone have experience with surfing Hawaii and some dimensions that have worked well for you?

If you're comfortable enough to surf in powerful, overhead surf, get a step-up. You could go anywhere between 6'2 and 6'6, rounded pin, depending on how big you expect it to get. But for summer, that should do ya. Don't go over 19" wide with continuous rocker. Flat to vee, or single to double concave to vee out the back. Thruster.
