I am 5'6" and weigh about 165lbs and I am looking for the best winter wetsuit. I currently have a Xcel LS 3/2 that fits pretty well but I am looking to get a 5mil or a 4/3 for the winter. I've never used anything thicker than a 3/2 so I would prefer a suit as flexible and as warm as possible.

If anyone is a similar size, please recommend a suit and size that may fit well. I know I will have to try a lot of suits on but looking to narrow down my choices first. I was thinking there could be certain brands that are better for someone my size. Obviously I will also try an Xcel winter suit in size LS but looking for other options too.

    Thanks:D

spend some time at your local surfshops and try on a lot of suits.. i am 5-8x190. (33" waist/44"chest) my 3/2 is a large/short bodyglove vapor and it is the best surfing product i have ever pruchased. my 5/4 is an xl quiksilver ignite. it fits well and is warm and flexible. I will definitely get a vapor 5/4 when my quik gives up the ghost.

it's sometimes kinda tough being built like a wrestler. you just gotta be patient and let the trial and error procedure lead you to suits that fit well. fit is king. btw, there are a lot of girls who go for the short/stocky type, so don't stress about that, either. i married one twenty years ago.

I have a similar build just larger and the mutant was the only front zip I could even consider.
