Reminds of when I was younger, at the time we lived about 20 minutes from the beach and skipped out on work because the waves were firing. Really firing! When we got to the beach my buddy forgot his baggies. He was wearing jeans so that wasn't an option. Parked next to us was a little Nissan pickup and laying in the back was an old ragged pair of stained up baggies. Probably used for construction of some sort. My friend paused for a minute and then decided it was his only option. He grabbed them threw them on, which somewhat fit and we went out surfing. Luckily the owner didn't recognize them or if he did didn't say anything. That was a swell in which a one minute couldn't be missed!

Now that I'm older I keep a surf kit in my car complete with wax, baggies, extra fin, key etc... Fully prepared!

Nope, I drive an ol' jeep.

I personally do not borrow baggies without permission nor do I probably make the ladies wet.

I'm not telling a story of plundering and pillaging just a story of things kids do when the waves are good.

Didn't mean to upset you almighty righteous guardian of used baggies....

Surf forums these days, end up talking about how much money we have, how many girls we get, and how cool our car makes us look. Its such a waste of time to complain about it on a surf forum. They didn't give it to you and that's that. If you think its a load of bs then never walk in their door again.

those screws/plates can get lost on the beach or in or near the car,so I learned to have extra, but that shop is a kook shop, too.dude,if you can afford a bmw you can get a surf vehicle and leave your girlfriend home, too.kooks everywhere.when I lost my screw/plate in cm southend employee was screwless/plateless and summer sun charged me 4 bucks.kooks.i learned that lesson the hard way.and 42,you ain't perfect,it's just possible you could mess up and show up missing something someday, too.that's how you learn, isn't it(gloves left behind,no wax, etc.)?

never said i was, i don't think. but i also don't expect others to cover for me when i **** up. given the # of boards i ride & have ridden w/ center boxes over the years, i've never once lost a screw or plate when the fin was mounted in the board. they slide out of the track when the fin is removed very readily. but i keep my boards finned up, so that's not an issue.

Yeah man... exactly. You know, I was thinking about getting a surf truck, cause it always takes the Mexicans like 2 hours of scrubbing to get the sexwax out of my interior at the carwash. Do you guys know if Palmers or Sticky Bumps is easier to get out of leather?

Anyway as far as the surf vehicle goes, I don't feel like wasting the money on another spot at the garage. Plus, what am I gonna do, show up at the office in a truck?

I guess it's better than rollin up in a horse-drawn cart like MVsurfer... hahaha.

P.S.- Not trying to be a d*ck here, the guys at the carwash could be Guatemalan for all I know.

Njsurfer42, not all of us enjoy the luxury of driving a vehicle that we can carelessly devalue with fin scratches.

All of you guys can keep buying scratch-offs, maybe you'll get lucky one day and can roll up next to me in a vehicle that would stand a chance.

For the record, I used to drive a Nissan. And even then I had no problem getting chicks. And no, we're not talking about the blue-ribbon hogs y'all bring home from the county fair.

To those who intelligently participated in this thread, especially garbanzobean, thank you. The rest of you are more judgmental than the guys on the E-trade forum. But hey, to it's their own.

Say what you will. I would still let you paddle out with me.

ever hear of a boardbag, genius? then again, if you're scratching your car w/ your fin(s), you're prob. doing something wrong.

why are you so obsessed w/ telling me what kind of car you drive (or used to drive)?

say what you will, i still think you're a kook.

Not for nothing but I'm pretty sure when he first said he drove a BMW it was a joke, since someone said he was trying to impress his girl....atleast that's how I took it. For anyone who didn't get it and think he was trying impress strangers on a surf forum jokes on you. I think
