Wayne, I think it's good that you are having surf church rather than regular church. You seem to draw a distinct line between your spirituality and traditional church structure. Honestly, I appreciate that.

It is probably better for kids than most of the corrupt congregations out there. I only hope that you teach Christ's love towards gays and Muslims also.

I am not being sarcastic. I'm just hoping that your concentration on 'Surfing & Jesus' extends positivity and acceptance towards all groups.

I am a firm non-believer, but I've been on the receiving end of the Church's generosity, as a child in need. I understand that some believers do truly positive work without asking for tribute, whether that tribute be monetary or spiritual.

What's wrong with spreading the positive, communal, charitable aspects of Christianity, without trying to convert non-believers? Is that not the most humble form of Christ's teachings?

    Hey slash-- very respectable response!

Everyone on here totally rips into Wayne for no reason. Well sometimes Wayne asks for it... But seriously compared to what other guys say/talk about I'm always surprised- There are many many times that others mention things that I find offensive- but do I ever start pointing fingers and hate? I just don't read them...

I don't think it's just Wayne. Anytime anyone mentions anything to do with God or Jesus- ppl all the sudden begin to hate and get angry and bent out of shape. In fact- ppl are so sensitive that you can just say 'creation' and ppl get all bent out of shape.

So in this present culture that preaches tolerance and equality- where is the tolerance and equality?

Anyways - slash - I also agree that as Christians we must accept everyone - including the gays and Muslims, but that doesn't mean we accept their actions (ex:Muslim killing ppl -isis)and we try hard to accept them. Many times we run into troubles since certain ppl groups don't seem to be wanting to be accepted- and its a huge shame that the small minority of Christians are doing it wrong and get all the attention- thus ruining it for everyone. Also, I'm sounds like many have had a bad experience with Christianity (much like we can have bad experience with surfing/surfers)- I'm sorry and really hope that you are open to what true Christianity is all about.

Christianity has some very noble tenets and practices. They are in fact found in most religions. They also happen to be found in atheism as well. They are functions of humanity, not religion.
We each can call it as we will.

    although we do we shouldn't.
    divided houses can't stand.

and, walking on h20, falsehood should be rejected.
    not equalized and tolerated.

the toleration and equalization of crap is the domain of the weak.
we have too many issues to face - such as fukushima - to dither with baloney.

If I understand the Darwin quote, it's not natural selection or the "micro-evolution" which both have evidence, been observed, and applied (i.e., genetic engineering, pharmaceutical developments) that are cast into doubt. It's the macro-evolution Darwin was concerned about (er aboot), where "transitional species" were not evident in the expected abundance.
