Not timid, but chose not to at this time engage in a discussion of origins on a "surf predictin'" website. There are already many good discussions and discourses that present both sides readily available online. However, always willing to discuss ideas as appropriate, preferably over a beverage or meal.

In my experience, it comes down to volition not evidence or reason. It's usually not about "can't believe " but rather "won't believe ".

so many people are willing to believe a theory that really doesn't have any evidence to uphold it.

just some food for thought: Darwin himself said that there was lack of evidence for his own theory:

“Why, if species have descended from other species by insensibly fine gradations, do we not everywhere see innumerable transitional forms."
and yet to date we still have not found any of those transitional forms/fossils. There are many other quotes, which really show that this is just a theory without any real evidence other then just thoughts and imaginations.

so - I ask, what takes more faith to believe in? a theory with no evidence - or a creation with evidence of intelligent design. I look all around and see order and design. Even just looking at the bees and other small things- that have a huge impact on our world and environment.

Creationist lost the battle eons ago- it is why you dropped the term Creationist for intelligent design. Just a single fact, thumper--fossils are the remnants of "hard parts" of a creature; soft parts disappear. That means that you cannot expect to find all the "gradations". Darwin was astute to recognize that his theory, not evolution, but "natural selection", needed to be developed later. Those findings have occurred and the "gradations" have been found. But if you want to keep your head in the sand, like a camel, how can you expect to understand your existence as a human?? Befuddling to say the least.
Having said that, if you wish to believe in a god, no problem with me....now go say 3 Hail Marys, 5 Our Fathers and don't forget to genuflect as you cross past the center aisle of the church. Otherwise, you are sure to fry in hell!!! toddle le do...

evolution has preciously ZERO to do with the big bang. Cosmic inflation and the microwave background radiation offer strong evidence of it. Where is the evidence that some old guy in a white beard created everything in 7 days??

2. Where did I come from? - WV originally, or from my mother's womb if you want to go back a ways.
3. Why am I here? - I moved here because I love the ocean. If you want to get philosophical, I am here to live a happy life, because that is imprinted in our society. The scientific answer will go back to conception, egg meeting sperm, and cellular mitosis.
4. Where am I going? - Home around 4pm. Maybe to the beach this weekend.

In a general sense, IMHO, knowing and understanding these things provides for peace and stability. Not saying I've got all these "dialed in", but having a general sense gives a foundation.

For me (apologies for getting too preachy or religious), I humbly say these are based on the eternal and not that which temporal and transient.

Each must discover and come to his/her own conclusion.
