True. Downhill and free ride deffinetly lack in the style department. Dancing and freestyle are much better Imo.

Carver is to real skateboarding like SUPS are to surfing.

Exactly if you show up at a skate spot or park with a carver you my friend would be onto some serious kookery!

Taste it bro. Saw you on a SUP the other day at the break. Don't lie.

Bro. I've gone to parks from east coast to west with Carvers and not treated like a kook. Quite often, they have all sorts of questions and want to know all about it. Have had some great sessions with good dudes who I just met at parks that day and were on regular skates. If anyone had anything to say, they never had the ballz to say anything directly to me and in that case, whose territory is it now?

No ones gonna give you **** for being a kook unless you get in someones way just like when your in the line up! I've carved around FDR when it was empty with a carver and it was fun but I carve and pump alot faster with a regular skatewood!

Hill bombing is nuts, a legit hill scares me more than a handrail or gap (not that I've skated either in many years). Longboarders, however, usually inhabit flat ground- at least in my relatively flat city. Maybe in SF they are nutso, but not here. Here they usually use them like bicycles. Hence the reputation.

Okay bro. Just remember that skateboarding started as a way to imitate surfing on land. Carvers are the ultimate sidewalk surfing machine.

do u even know what electrolytes are??lmao

yea but the carver boards and skateboards are 2 different breeds.nothing wrong with it,but its like surfing and sponging.I went down some gnarly hills on my standard skateboard, with loose trucks and faceplanted the street at like 20mph.i was always into street skating, just ripping up whatevrs in town.and I don't think skating has a term for a kook lol.that's a surfing thing

You do. And you'll put a CX.4 Carver truck on it. Those are tighter than the C7 but you're still on a Carver, and a traditional deck. Try it bro.

Yes braddah, I know what electrolytes are. I have a degree in physiology and two decades of independent study and anecdotal evidence as an elite athlete in training.

Bro, thanks for the continuing ed lesson on the difference between Carver riding and regular skating. Honestly though cep, with the CX.4 on a trad deck, it's light enough where you can traditional street skate and surf the streets both. You guys that haven't been on one really have no idea. And no, it's not like sponging and surfing bro. You're still my guy cep, but you gotta get on one of these.

Bro, I'd never ignore you. It's a lot to sort through when you come back on here after not checking forums all days and seeing 26 updated topics. Been absolutely buried in work this week and got stoked on waves tonight for over 2 hours. I don't have any new Carver footage or much at all since I started trying out much street, but I'll reach out to you on PM soon and send you some footage from before. Guarantee it's stuff you haven't thought of yet on it.

Speaking of, I definitely kick flipped by surfboard at the end of a fast backside ride tonight. Not purposely at all. I fired down the backside on a plus set which made it probably a 5-footer, sick ass bottom turn and pa pa pa pa 4 pumps down the line then back up the face to uncork a front snap. When I did so, I unweighted my front foot like crazy as well as slipping on the tail pad that is peeling off and I haven't attend to it. So my feet basically did the mechanics for a kick flip and the board flipped hard, fast, and high. The rotation actually stopped when my fins hit me in the elbow. Gnarly. Then on my last ride of the night I did this pop shove it where I sent the board right up into my arms. Tonight was a weird sesh and these impromptu skate moves were a dope surprise haha

Sic vid Slashdog. I respek those dudes on there. When I see a dude who's about to skate something gnarly, the first thing I think is: that dude has no helmet or pads on. That transcends the value of what they are doing in my mind, even though I know it's ok for someone to wear protective gear doing that. It's like there's a general assumption of increased skill if someone's that confident where they're facing peril yet don't expect to encounter it. Style and sex appeal goes way up.

post a pic of a carver,im curious to what these things look like.those are the longboards right, that u go down hills with?idk iv always been a casual skater, moving slow doing tricks.i don't like those old bart simpson boards either I know all the guys used them in the 80s.i havnt skated in years, last time I saw a kid skating,i told him to let me see it and still landed a double kickflip in workboots.

its a strange world, people have all different styles of skating.i remember as a kid, this one local gangbanger I grew up with,he was actually on Americas most wanted for shooting a girl in the arse which makes no sense lol,hes currently doing 15yrs in Trenton state for talking shyt to amw on myspace.anyway he took my board one day and started spinning on it lol,he did like a triple 1080 spin,it was akward, wasn't expecting that
