what makes you say that? do you fear the unknown that exists in a conversation about reality?

I think skill diminishes stoke. As much as I love surfing, I got a whole lot more pleasure out of it before I really learned how to surf. It becomes an addiction that needs to be fed. Chasing the dragon, and just like heroin, it's never as good as it was the first time.

Surfing = Heroin. No, I don't think so at all. When i first started surfing i was riding white water and thats about it. Now I travel the world for barrels which is a lot more fun than whitewater. You need to stop surfing.

yea, skill leads to stoke, however it takes 'mo bettah' conditions for a skilled person to 'get off'

ie a newby who can go down the line is super stoked to go down the line, a barrel hound might have fun, but not be super stoked

and seriously, surfing without barrels is like sex without the orgasm, I imagine this is how blasters' girl feels

I think you missed the point of the analogy. barrels are waaaay more intense (and harder to come by) than whitewater, so you need more pizazz to get the same stoke....just like an addict needs more sweet lady H to get the same buzz as his/her experience increases.

like that first 6 pack you had got you pretty drunk, now that 6er is just a warm up

my first tube was short and AWESOME.... I am much less impressed with same tube-ride now, I need a deep mental pit to go off like I did on my first tube ride

if you still dont understand YOU need to quit surfing
