I'm looking at a kid right now who is covered with road rash 'cause he bailed on his razor scooter! Everything that you can ride comes with inherent risks. I'm a cycling, skateboarding, surfer. I'd rather bail on a surfboard than a bike or a skateboard. I've been hurt on all three but only needed surgery after a skateboard incident. I don't skim because I'd rather fall in water than on hard packed sand. I'm impressed by good skimmers, and entertained by not so good skimmers...
+1 for sure. All talk of real skimmers aside, is there anything more fun on a flat day at the beach than watching a pack of 14 year olds skimming, waiting for the one who slides to dry and face plants onto the sand?
Wtf is a skimmer? A skim boarder? How can you possibly get in their way? Just don't ride wave all the way out.
I can't believe no one commented on this. Probably due to the incessant drivel that is polluting every thread on this board. Is there a skimming priority rule that says skill level determines priority?? Shawn K alluded to the same thing. If skimming rules different in that regard it may explain why everyone couldn't get along.
If that's the rule then watch Shawn K's video. Throw away airs and the basic backside snap over and over and over. If he is a pro, I hope he has a backup plan in the mix.
