I love these guys and only recently stumbled upon this fabulous collaboration with Bobby Weir. And it's free stream from the link: http://live.slightlystoopid.com/tri/ A lot of my surfing revolves around listening to this band- they've been in a ton of surf flicks, and their music is just awesome. This live collab w/ Bob Weir is a must listen. Any Dead Heads on here?
Agreed on Slightly Stoopid, saw them at a bad a$$ concert on New Years Eve / New Years a couple years ago, they came with the Expendables, which i'm going to see this weekend in Orlando. F they put on good shows and everybody in the crowd burns and is generous with complete strangers.
o bagus I gotta say I dig Slightly Stoopid too, but the Dead man...next level ish imho. Just stumbled upon this old footage...
Pigpen! f'n love you man
Wife's a head. Must've heard sugar maggs like 7 times 7 different versions on Saturday. Dead's a staple in my home. The rug that's ties our house together. It is always in the background make the day better. Until Donna show's up. Sheesh what a buzz kill
I like both slightly stoopid and The dead, however; (and this is no offense to anyone here because I do not know you) these new age dead heads piss me off. Every single one that I have met has been a total burn out/ conspiracy theorist/ lazy sack of shieet that forwhatever reason believes they are smarter than everyone in a room. Watch bobbys documentary on netflix, he talks about how the original band followers were there for the music, not whatever it means sick a skull decal on the back of your civic. Musically the dead were and are still one of the most innovative bands on the planet, yet the image people derive from their cult following is fukking lame. and ps, just cause you are a dead head doesn't make it okay to be a phish fanatic too.
I first heard slightly stooped at work on Pandora radio like 6 or 7 yrs ago.i thought for sure they were Jamaicans, then I seen them online lol.i like them tho,its like a mix of sublime and marley...I was never too big into the dead,i like a few songs but never actually listened to an entire album....like I heard that song, riding that train.....high on cocaine.... many years ago and never knew that was the dead.i know a shytload of songs, but cant put the songs to faces
kingfish-one time i saw them live -robbie hoddinott-guitarist kicked ass
Indeed. I never saw them live, but had the debut album. That video showcases his skills for sure. Thanks for sharing.
Dude, Roberto's= Bob. Around 44min, Weir comes on and jams. But the whole video (2.5+hrs) has Weir talking w/ the guys and sampling riffs, etc. I just left the youtube player running from within the link I posted, and ended up with the entire show. So it's in there, just be patient, Doug.
Phish suck. But Phish fans are the worst. Especially the ones under 35 yrs old. I freakin' cant stand the hypocrisy of some natty dread white kid pleading pore, sticking his finger up in the air for a freakin' miracle, after driving from show to show in godam range rover. no job, no style, no clue. another sampling of whats wrong with america. but admittedly, i went through a phish phase back in the early 90s, before plattsburg. that early stuff is legit. sans the bouncing around the room pop hippie gayness
For the heads.... Look up Rob Cork's Personal Stash podcast. Lots of full concerts with set lists. If you're not listening to live Dead you're doing it wrong.
Man, I gotta say, I do really dig that tune David Bowie...stanky and steamer I will say I'm not super familiar with the catalougue so I admit close-mindedness on the matter. For friggin shizzle. Cheers crackers
