I'm with mitchell on this one. Quad or a twin/keel. Hell I weight 195 and have a thick 5'5" I can ride through mushy sections. I have a Hanson longboard and it is heavy and too long. Hell I even made a Grande Simmons and at 7'....still too big. For your weight I would not go over 5'9".....I don't like these models too fat (uncomfortable to sit on) or too long (feel sluggish) DawnpatrolSUP board above would be a no brains given your size. Don't be fooled into thinking it wont work because of the length.

I have a deodorizer and just make sure it doesn't have too much rocker....these boards need to be flat to fly...don't worry about the flatness...you can work the pocket and the drop is not an issue if it gets dumpy.

How do you like it? Can it compete with loggers in the 1-3ft swell? Do you think that it is a good simms model or should I look at a different shapers Mini Simms? Lastly, is this an all levels surfboard? I'm probably beginner-intermediate. I've been surfing for a couple of summers, I can pop up fine, and paddle well. Now I'm just working on carving the face. I don't wanna get a board that is too out of my league. Are there other boards that you would recommend over the Mini Simmons?

    I'm 5'8" 145lbs and just got a Rickland Bandit 5'4"

You can get them with the stingers in the tail or the one I have does not. It goes well in mush to decent waves. It's the board I got so I can still surf without riding a longboard. Paddles well, planes off early and you can still do turns on it. Best thing is you call call Rickland up, talk to him exactly what you want. He can costum shape it, paint it and ship it for cheaper then some brand name models off a rack. I thought of having him shape me a mini Simmons, but tails are so wide, they still don't turn well. Being 145, we can get away with having a board with a wide nose and full outline, but have a tail that's narrower and be able to turn it and put on rail. Board just works. I get all my boards through Rickland and have been impressed by everyone.
