I actually went to Cape May. The Cove was really good for once. The Jetty blocked the wind and get the drift down and Lined up some really nice Head High lefts. There wasnt alot of people out until the tide droped then is got packed 10 people fight to get the best spot off the rocks :confused: I was out from 10:30 to 2pm It was pretty fun out

I did good. Went out for 2 hours before work, got washed down 10 blocks, had a few heavy drop-ins which were pretty fun. I didn't see anyone out not even checking it  winds layed off a bunch, high tide rollers pumping into the groins. I had fun.

lol, i must have been watching you on the cam all day. I was pondering on heading down to CM, but I went here instead. Some kid was on a skim board at CM and killing it on the inside section of the cove. I saw 2 SUP'ers too. it looked like waist high.

Yeah those guys on the Sup's stayed dowm pretty far.

It was a chest to head high in The Cove. I caught a cpl head high waves them after the Tide switch a ton of people came out and it was a battle to be off the rocks. This one old guy was droping on people left and right . I became a mad house I surfed farther down after I was already on the wave going and he droped in behind me I was already up and going and he was trying to get around me in the white water

this is what i hate about the cove...it can be a great set up, but the take off area is so compressed, it can get pretty aggressive.
i thought about heading down there today, but the semester is ending & i have research papers to grade. after reading your initial post, i'm kinda bummed i didn't. sounds like it would've been worth the drive & potential crowd hassle.

For the better part of the day it was me and this guy I havent surfed with on a few years and Joe Grottola. There was 2 guy who I didnt know either but it seemed like right around the tide switch it go glassy and 3 head high sets came in and then everyone decided to paddle out and it was fight for the rocks time. I moved down a bit and saw another guy who I havent surfed with in a few years. It was like everyone was coming outa the wood work today.

Waves were great in Rockaway, I wanted to go to Long Beach because I thought it would be a bit cleaner, but I only had about 2 hours of sunlight left and Rockaway is much quicker from the city. Some great sets, long lefts at 90th St. The current was pretty bad though, so it was hard to keep from drifting into the pylons
