http://www.indoboard.com/ Anyone else have one? Got it for 10 bucks at a tag sale and its barely been used. So much fun to mess around on. I just got good at "noseriding" and I'm working on sliding it around the roller in 180's and stuff. I also found that using it sideways is much better practice for surfing.
Schitt, I have a hard enough time walking and chewing gum. I'd crack my pumpkin head open. That's why I love surfing so much. Falling on water is more fun than falling on furniture. you can quote me on that.
I have used Indos and Goof boards. Like both. My son made his own goof board for a school project! They can be giant fun to train on too, doing squats, weights, etc.
I have used an indo board for several years now. Lots of fun, and a good core workout. The first few times I used it I nearly split my head open, but it is easy to get the hang of.
They are great fun and a good training tool. Just don't break it out during a party unless you want a lawsuit
Judging from the prices on the web site, you got a great deal; although it's unclear why they are so expensive. Never tried one. Surfin's enough for me. I'm not a kid anymore and don't need another way to injure myself. Takes too long to heal. Finally gave up ice skating and rollerblading for that reason: broken ankle, banged up knees, torn groin. Wasn't very good anyway.
I've always wanted an indo board but could never justify the insane retail prices on one. if you got one for that cheap it's truly a steal. I should seriously just make one, I've got a bunch of scrap wood lying around from the deck repairs I just did, I should just glue and clamp some boards together and cut out the shape match an indo board and try it out on a medicine or bosu ball lol
indo board $170 goof board $150 surf trainer $350 http://www.perfectsurfer.com/product/tabid/64/productid/3/sename/the-perfect-surfer/default.aspx total = $670 I made all three for a lil over $100. indo board - 1) old skateboard deck 2) 2L bottle (some prefer 3L). - dump out the corn syrup. Put plumbing thread sealer tape on the top. Fill TO THE RIM with water. Put cap one (duh). DONE goof board - 1) Scap plywood 2) Grip tape. 3) leftover stain/paint. 2) 2 1x2's a couple feet long. 3) 3" PVC pipe - cut out the shape in the scrap plywood, sand it (esp the edges. screw the 1x2's to the bottom for support and to keep the pipe from flying out from under. Stain or paint with leftover stain/paint. Put grip tape on. DONE. surf trainer - made it out of PVC pipe and bungee cords. Biggest cost of all the three as I had to buy the PVC tee's and 45's. Fun to play on and good for working on core\balance. Not so good for improving paddling, positioning, working on those late drops, or angled take-offs. Note: pipe goes parallel for the goof board, wife took the pic to show the pipe.
Nice work! I dig it. Def want to try making my own indo board now after seeing someone else's creation
yeah for real, the other thread going on right now is about those little hand planes for body surfing and the guy said he's looking at for for 100 bucks, I can't fathom spending that on a plank of wood... haha
Yeah next thing you know someone will be selling million dollar wooden SUPs.
