And now I need to know how to ride it. I've tried the tests to figure out which foot is dominant...though it almost looks like I would use whichever foot is closest. But maybe I use my right foot more often. Other than that, I'm a bit lost. I've tried watching videos...but they're a little lost on me. I was basically the same with bikes until I read in a book that you have to lean in the direction that you're trying to turn and the next day I rode my bike. So maybe someone has a written resource anywhere? Or maybe you can even explain in type the motions you use?

Yes. Definitely use whichever foot is closest. Always.

Beyond that, it appears you're on the right track. Keep it up and you'll be riding waves on a surfing boarde in no time. Bear in mind that surfing season ends in aboot a month so you better hop to it.

    Good luck. Be prepared.

So I see this appears to be who it isn't? I guess trying to figure out who you really are is the real question.
Gotta hit that bong and re read the entire tread again.

More important than which foot forward, are your hands. This position is optimal and plays a big part in balance. Using this stance is very important!!

Also, get a traction pad that runs the length of your board, it will help you find the sweet spot!

After you introduce yourself, pm Metard and ask him where you can get some good deals on Hawaiian shirts like this.

Before ya know it, you will be doing sweet tricks with your bros like this

The thin curved piece that protrudes from you board is what you hold on to when you ride waves.

You have to cease the keyboard masturbation and get to the beach. Enlist one of the local beach boys to give you a legit lesson. Any surf shop has contacts w/ the indigenous surfer population that grew up riding waves and sometimes know little else. You need to learn the ocean. You do know how to swim very well, right?

This. Valhallalla would never steer you in the wrong direction(git it).

Bicycle riding is critical to determining stance for all boarde riding sports. In fact, you should consult this thread, all aboot bicycles...

Now, if you really want to be a part of this forum, heed the advise of others and start a hello thread. Tell us about your experience riding bicycles so we could hlep you further.

so you stand sideways and try to go forward? That makes sense.... That's like standing straight and trying to go to the side
