Swellinfo is very excited to release our Southern California surf forecasts and high resolution Southern California Swell model!

Some guidance for our first time SoCal users:

    - SoCal wave maps and forecasts are updated twice daily with the latest swell and wind data. All other wave/period maps are updated 4 times daily along with the nearshore winds, pressure maps, and hourly weather data.

    - Forecasted surf heights are predicted for the average to better breaks. There's lots of variability from spot to spot in SoCal, so best spots are likely to pull in some bigger than predicted sets, while other spots will be smaller (esp. on the longer period swells).

    - "Swell Plot" timelines show offshore swell data, whereas as if you click on "show details" in the "Surf Plots", you will see projected nearshore swell data.

More info on Swellinfo products, including icons and swell period terms can be found on the "Site Info" page - top right link.

It may take a bit of time to become familiar with the Swellinfo forecast products, but once you do, finding all the pertinent forecast info has never been easier! Enjoy, and please give us any feedback you may have.
