Size LARGE Viper V5-Flex (orange dot) fins. I don't like these, they feel like bendy straws on my feet. I wore them once and bought them brand new from ebodyboarding.com. Name your price, and they are yours, and I will ship them whatever carrier is your fancy. Size LARGE (yes I have big dogs) Laguna Neofins. Neoprene foot pocket and adjustable heel strap. Feels like you're wearing slippers. I really liked these until I discovered Kicks, and then it was all over. These have been worn quite a bit. Size LARGE 5mm H20 Odyssey fin socks. Worn once, washed in wetsuit shampoo, rinsed, dried and then ignored. Free with any fins if you want them! - consolation prize. Size LARGE 3mm Tilos fin socks, made for warmer weather, they are little socks, coming up to your ankle. Free with any fins if you want them! - consolation prize. Hyperflex 5/3 bibbed hood, size large. I don't know why I have this, since I have a hooded wetsuit and a 3mm hood. I don't remember if I ever wore it. I don't even know if it's mine - but now it can be YOURS! XXL Henderson Aquatics dive skin heavy duty 17 oz. polyfelin, front zip, thumb loops, foot stirrups. Has same warmth has 2mm of neoprene. I wore this when my winter suit was being repaired under a 4/3 in the DEAD of winter and was perfectly warm. Can also be worn alone. Blue/black - kind of ugly. Just being honest, but it really is a good liner. Washed religiously in wetsuit shampoo, rinsed well, air dried and hung up. Retails for $80 in local scuba shops. PM me or write to XLongBeachSurfnX@aol.com. Thanks!!
Spongah, how do you like your kicks? I have been with Redley for a while but they are no longer available in the US. My No.6 team riders in HI all like the kicks in tropical waters, just wondering how they are in our colder water temps.
Hey Chuck! hey chuck! how are you? i love kicks, actually. i found them to be the best fin that i've used so far and i have been through (as you saw) about a million of them. the rounded blade gives a good amount of snap, and they are very comfortable. the foot pocket, like a lot of other fins, is a bit narrow - and when you go up in size to accomodate fin socks, they tend to get bigger length wise, not necessarily width wise, but i've found this with a lot of fins. i also have pretty wide feet and an extremely high arch, so i have weird feet to start out with! you might be easier to fit. they held up pretty well through the winter for me, however, the blade did get a slightly downward tilt that i had to adjust. i don't know if that is common, or is a result of the rubber reacting to the cold water and then warming up again, but it really had no bearing on performance. i've also heard that da fin is an all around good fin. a few kneeboarders that i talk to use them. they are made by the same company that makes kicks. might be worth looking into, too. hope to see you again this year at the NYBB event and the party!!! chris
I will see you up @ the NYBB event. I will talk to Bob B about getting me a pair. My foot isn't wide, but the Tech original fins are the only ones that I can wear the same size (Large) with 5mil boots in the winter & without socks, etc in the summer. My Redley's are Large & I like them best over all of the fins I have now which include-Vipers, Tech original, Churchhills, Custom X. My shoe size is 10 1/2-11 depending on brand. Thanks for the info.
= ) Once you have a pair of fins that you love, everything else just pales in comparison. People RAVED about Vipers, so I went out and bought 2 different pairs - the V5 Flex and the standard yellow dot. V5 Flex felt like bendy straws and the other ones felt like Voit Duckfeet (wow, showing my age!!!!!). Churchills - felt like clown shoes. The Laguna Neofins were really comfortable and I could fit them over a 7mm soled boot, but they really weren't the greatest fin in the world, just super comfy. I even had those stupid ShinFins which were really expensive and ended up being no more propulsive than my own two bare feet. Somedays I just want to put some surfing fins in the bottom of my bodyboard, and take the darn fins off of my feet. Have fun trying out different fins.
Hey Chuck, I was actually going to drop you a line about the Kicks because I'd like to order some for the shop and remember you were talking about wanting to check them out. Let me know if you'd like me to get you a pair. I've been wearing the Ally Fins my last two times out and must say I really like them alot. Very similar to churchills but I think they have better thrust. But yeah let me know and I'll place a starter order with them and check them out.
Bob, if you would I need size Large Kicks. I will contact you tomorrow via e-mail about ordering them. Thanks CW
