I've been working with Dan at Solid Surfboards to get a custom DisFish board. We just nailed down the dimensions and art for what I'm getting. Today, the company had an online trivia thing and one of the prizes was a new custom DisFish. Well.. I won! I hadn't actually placed my order yet for my board...BUT, behind my back my fiance had contacted Dan to let him know when it comes time to pay to let her know so she can pay for it as a surprise birthday gift.... which she did yesterday. So right now it looks like I have two DisFishes coming my way in a few weeks. I really don't need two of the same board. We're going to see if he'll refund the money she paid and just use the specs I worked out with him on the prize board. Otherwise, I was thinking if someone is interested I could have him shape the prize board to your dimensions and sell it to you at a discount. Anyone ride a Solid? what do you think of it?
looks like he already started shaping the one i ordered. He said for my free board I could get anything I'd like under 6'6. Check out the website and see if there is anything you might like: http://www.solidsurfco.com/
I was looking around $400, which would save you $125 when you factor in shipping. At this point haven't entirely decided what I want to do. For some inexplicable reason my fiance actually wants me to keep both and get the other board as a replacement for my beat-up standard shortboard. A couple friends have also expressed interest, so they'd get first dibs.
it's very out of character for the fiance to think I should get more boards... and we are running out of space to keep them, so at first I figured she'd probably want me to sell it and none of my friends were initially interested.... Still, im sure my fiance could change her mind and my friends could end up backing out. So i'd rather sell it on here in advance so someone can get it custom for them than try to sell it on craigslist after i get it. btw, someone had already PM'ed me, so they are first in line from swellinfo which models were you looking at?
