Don't know where Black Hawk Down was filmed but the scene where the helo's are flying over the coast showed lots of possibility. The movie about Benghazi has a scene showing a bay and what looks like a decent sandbar break.
I listened to an interview on the Glen Beck radio show with the Navy Seal who took the shot on Bin Laden, he was also part of the team that took out the Somali pirates a few years ago (my memory is junk, they made a movie about that as well with Tom Hanks). I recommend everyone listen to that interview, these guys are incredible. True American hero's.

those guys rarely get off the boat. they have to send off one guy to collect supplies at a convenient store inside a base (Coast Guard's have liquor stores fyi). a lot of passport issues you can imagine. don't feel to sorry for these ppl tho, a lot of them are ex-convicts or have a real shady background
