I guess you can't trust anyone/anywhere these days...

I had just gotten done surfing and I went upstairs to get my suit off and change. I was on 132nd street in Spray Beach of Long Beach Island. I left my board next to my car between about 3pm and 4pm not really thinking anything of it. The board and my car were directly out front of the house I was getting changed in. When I came downstairs the board was gone. I did a few circles around the block to see if anyone was walking away with it. I also filed a police report and they'll be checking the street camera in the area. I know that the best hope is in the surfing community, and I'd really appreciate you keeping an eye out for my board.

It's a Rip Curl 6'10 Fish (Thruster) with a red and yellow stomp pad. If the thief is a total numskull he'll probably leave the purple leash on it as well. There's a red sticker on the nose that says \"Rip Curl\" and a Rip Curl symbol right next to it. I'm almost positive there are two black outside fins and one white center fin... Hopefully you can see the image.

My guess would be that it's not a surfer and probably some out-of-towner doing construction work down here and saw a way to make a quick buck. But on the off chance that the person surfs the board I would appreciate you keeping an eye out. Time will tell if I ever see my board again. I can't thank you enough for reading this and I appreciate your help!
That sucks dude and I'll keep an eye out, but - you left your board outside on the sidewalk for an hour unattended?
6'10 fish? you a big boy! sucks, good luck. I had a board stolen and then surfed with the guy who stole it the next day, he was shocked, I hope you get to shock someone
My truck got stolen with 3 boards in it, back in 2005 I think it was. About a year later, my shaper called me and texted me a picture. It was the board he shaped me, with hole cut in it, sitting on top of the La Jolla Contemporary Art Musem in a sculpture. It still to this day, sits sadly amongst canoes, boats and boards for all to see. Its a damn shame... Hope you get it back quick, or you may never get your hands on it again..
that sucks. that really sucks that you lost the board... but Im just gonna come out and ask with my hands in the air, shaking my head.... why the f do people leave their surfboard out and then act surprised that it got stolen? I wouldnt leave my board out in my backyard. if it was secured to the roof of your car then you could be surprised or shocked. but just on the ground between the cars... what if you found a pile of money sitting inbetween 2 cars and no one around. you f-ing take it.
Yeah in hindsight it was undoubtably a stupid move. But I wasn't hanging out in Mexico City or Camden. I was on Long Beach Island… Not exactly a breeding ground for thieves as far as I know. I was a little too trusting in the community I've been in since I was a kid… Picking up money is one thing. But picking up a surfboard is like taboo man! I would't ever take a board knowing that it could ruin someone's day/week/month/life. That's just me though. Anyway, I won't be leaving my boards unattended ever again.
Tried that. The place is like fort Knox. They wouldn't give me the artists name to ask for permission to get it back. I requested it. Also, they said that she obtained all these vessels through posting requests for donations etc. I mean, It does have my name glassed into the stringer. It was one of my favorite boards ever. But I didn't want to be such a tool, that I was going to expect them to dissassemble the whole piece and pull the cables out and stuff. Wasn't worth it to me. I respect art, and I don't blame the artist for her having obtained it. They found my trucked stripped down in the hood in SE San Diego. So, who knows how it made its way back up to La Jolla.... At least it is sitting up there, getting a sick view of the best stretch of reef pass on the west coast... I guess there could be worse dooms for a surfboard. I had micah shape me the exact same board. He had recorded all the dims. It was named Baby Talk 2... It was just never the same. It just didn't handle the same way Baby Talk 1 did. Baby talk two is hanging, in almost perfect condition in the man cave, waiting for the day that Hilton Head sees conditions for a 5'10 potato chip. It was a board designed really only for airs and light wind. The first just blasted off the lip, the second one was just a little too light I think. Has to be literally perfect conditions. Punchy waves, light wind. I mean the thing feels like a piece of loose leaf when you pick it up. Baby Talk One was the first free "team rider" board or any kind of sponsorship I was ever given, so it has a lot of meaning to me. Ohh well.
My buddy left his board outside his friends house in Spring Lake. Between Ocean Blvd & 1st Ave. Someone took it with in minutes. Walked around looking for it. We found it in the dunes. Guess they were gonna come back for it later.
