I loved him live. Ive seen him and spearhead twice. One of the best shows I've been to easily. They had a ton of energy and was just an awesome experience. But I cant stand his albums for some reason. I dont know why but they just feel kind of bland.
I've seen him 3 times. the 2cnd time at a small venue. He brought a young lad on stage, gave him a guitar, and sent J Boogie back stage. The kid was air guitaring in front of family and friends. After the set, Franti hung out with his adoring fans after acquiring the new album on the internets, I was glad I didn't pay. The last time I saw them was the tour for it. I gave it another listen after, and liked 2 songs. then another. now there's 2 songs I can't stand. One can hear him gradually going from an angry young, to a peacenic hippy from his album. He said he wrote "Gloria" after his appendix burst in a 3rd world country and took almost a week to get to a hospital. "I'm glad to be alive". He's living in Indo.
