Thanks all. I thought they were sonic booms, but wasn't sure.

When I first heard them, I thought "that can't be thunder, the surf is too good, I don't want to get out"

Had a really great day, surfed from 12-4 and got so many good rides, I lost count.

"Sonic Boom" is what Roy hears when Chucky lays his Sonic Butt Clap on him.

If there was a POTY Top 20 this would make the cut.

I would imagine it was probably fighter jets going supersonic... The Air Force, Navy and Marine Corps practice Air to Air combat in the Vacapes Oparea directly east and southeast of Assateague.

Was in the water in the same timeframe, it really turned on. First time in AI for me, I'm in love with the place. Got a lot of fun long rides, and then enjoyed the shorepound when the tide came up. Friday afternoon shorepound sesh too was fun. Still readjusting back to regular functioning. Will post some pics and story soon.

Thanks yankee, you're a classy f'n dude hermano. Full report coming to you in aboot 15 minutes.

Hey Seldom. Was wonderin if you disappeared. Thought I saw you in Galveston, but that was just my sister's neighbors. See pic below. The boat, while kinda small, is probably the sweetest boat in Galveston. It's actually a tug boat. Very nice. Isn't AI the place with the wild ponies? Bet that's pretty cool to watch while you're in the water.

You picked quite a day for your AI introduction. It can be really fun when all the conditions are right, as they were Saturday. IBC - I didn't see any ponies on the beach during this session, but it does happen. A herd was wandering the beach during the Equinox swell.

Nah braddah, I'm back! That must be my evil(or good, depending on perception) twin though. My break from da net has forced me to re-evaluate my participation on it, and I will be minimizing certain aspects. Not here of course, just the kooky sh!t like fb.

Man, I thought the same. It appears as though we had appeased the wave gods. But man, just in general...the pines, the dune vegetation, the four-legged and winged friends. Special place.
