What's up with the surfing scene down here in South FL. I notice there are not a lot of posts or active members from the area. I see places like NJ and NC with tons of active surfers, shapers, and enthusiasts, but not so much down here. What gives? I only bring this up because I am new to the area down here and would love to hear more info about good breaks or the better conditions locally. Would also like to know more about local shapers, but doesn't seem to be much discussion about SoFl shapers on here. I'm in Jupiter, so def some decent breaks around here, and plenty of stoke I see in the water, so why the lack of a community?
Where are do you surf H20? Spend most of my time at Juno Pier. Don't disagree, very friendly down here, just looking for some more info about the area and surf community.
Lived in FL my whole life, you might find more of a surfing community a little bit up the coast line. New Smyrna Beach down through Cocoa, all the way down to Sebastian Inlet is going to be the best bet if you want to tap into a more surf oriented community. S. Florida is more of a pretentious area where the people tend to care more about the night life and to "see and be seen" by other pretenious people who think they are the next reality TV star
how it going fellas? i live in north miami beach...there are surfers for sure but not super tight community. this isn't such a mellow surf scene...people for the most part care more about materialism than anything else down here. i lived in wilmington,nc before...great surf scene...i miss it pretty oftenee
Ive been here for almost 2 years, so I guess I couldn't say. Jensen Beach was fun this a.m. Closeouts after a certain point in the tide change.
