Random pull-off north of Pompano, south of Delray, on a trip from a few couple years ago March. Smallish long period swell with enough north angle to get in. 50-75 yard rippable lefts on just a straight section of beach with a decent sandbar. Such a fun session on a section of beach that is probably a lake 350 days out of the year.
if you drove 20 miles south that day you were in Pompano and it was ankle high. I'm sure SI Surfdog was scoring HH waves this day 20 miles north.
Just south of of the hollywood board walk theres a zone that breaks clean but not a lot of power, dania beach peir is not clean but those waves can have some power, and john u lloyd state park is the best waves youll find south of deerfield. all these waves can be ridden with shortboards, and long softtops.
Florida is a real fickle place to surf....week ago Thursday, up in my area we had size but the winds were 20 to 25 mph and had just a little to much north in it and made the waves very sectional and not very fun, almost dangerous, 15 to 20 miles south of me it was bombing, doh, perfect offshore winds. Same thing north, Indianatlantic, Melbourne beaches bombing, you just got to keep your eyes on the flags and know your swell. Oh almost forgot....be willing to travel.
I admire your confidence sir. I'd like to apply for charter membership. However, I do believe you have spelled barrells incorrectly.
This wraparound works on the right swells often when it's not breaking elsewhere. Jacks up in front of the rocks and offers some steep drops. Access is somewhat difficult though.
And if you're up for a bit of a paddle, there's always spoils. Waves are much further out than they appear in pics.
