Big Nor Easter Comin this weekend. SFL is not a beast I have tackled yet but the blue water and millions of people look oh so inviting. Any spots other than reef road that are worth the trip? Coming from Orlando...

    Paging sisurfdogg.

If you find yourself in south Broward look me up. No good reason to come down this far tho. Our waves suck and are very lonely as well all the time.

Welcomme! Palm Beach will be the call on Saturday, due to strong NE winds predicted. Sunday will go NW hard, maybe Delray will be cleaner, but it is a zoo. The Cove which is north of Reef Road proper, up by the jetty, will give you protection and it's pretty spread out crowd wise on big chunky days due to the randomness of the break. Sunday Reef Road will break good but crowded as hell, it won't be big enough to thin out the herd. PM me Saturday, I'll give you mo better info.

Perfect sounds like a plan, How's the water temp down there? Can I scoot by with a top or do I need a 3/2?

The water is around 75 degrees Palm Beach south. 73 up in Jupiter. Sunday will be blustery and air temps in 50s.
It looks like later on Saturday pm, and early Sunday till 11 am will be best conditions. That may change due to timing of front. I'm wearing gloves, hood, booties and a 4/3 on Sunday. Nah, but definitely a 3/2 full suite. Thin blood mate!

Here in CFL I've only worn my 3/2 like 4-5 times this Winter, two of those times I didn't need it and could of gotten away with 2mm shorts and a top. It's been a rather warm season, only a couple days were legit cold. I'm not complaining, I'm prepared if it gets truly cold, but i'll take these temps all day errr day.

Using south Florida wave scale this will be DOH. Hawaiian scale it'll be 1-2.

SATURDAY: Chest-shoulder high mid period NE windswell in the morning, still a strong south drift. Wind lightens up by the end of the day. Wind NE 20kts becoming east at 5kts late afternoon. So end of the day could be good.
SUNDAY: Wind turns NW and picks up overnight and into Sunday morning. Swell cleans up pretty good. Waist to chest, building shoulder-head high through the day. Wiind stays hard offshore all day at NW 20-25kts. Staying pretty chilly all day too.
MONDAY: Chilly start to the day! temps in the 40s again! Chest-shoulder plus in the morning building with longer period swell train filling in through the day. Check big wave spots in the afternoon cause there will be a lot of power and thickness. Swell peaks in the afternoon 1-2' overhead with a straight west wind. Keep in mind it's shark season though. And know your physical limits.

wait?? shark season is winter in soflo? well it would make sense with sharks migrating towards the warmer water. the water is pretty dead shark wise in sc but the water is low 50s sometimes low 40s...i dont even want to think of low 40s right now...
