Hey guys I'm looking to get my first custom board pretty soon and its going to be a groveler/multi-wave board (mainly for smallish summer surf). I've been looking at S. Jersey shapers, particularly, DCAL and Wynn and would like any input from others who have gone through them or have any other recommendations for shapers in the area.

I'm also curious to find out if they will glass it with epoxy. I want something that can take a beating.

    Thanks dooooooooooooooods

I've had only good experiences with Wynn...fish, shortboards, etc. His glossing is top notch...and does a lot of contract work for locals in the area e.g., Heritage...check out his Instagram. Both the epoxy and resin-x glassed boards came out great--I always went a bit heavier on the glass schedule for my fishes...

Never got a board from DCAL...

Anyone use Davey Sky out of Manasquan (out of the East Coast surfboard factory in squan)? I like some of his shapes and he thoroughly explains the science of every aspect of his build in his blog.

I talked to Davey about a board but ended up with Wynn due more to location and timing than anything else. He seemed like a real solid dude.
