Planning a trip to the south pacific region this summer (winter there). I was wondering what islands people have visited/surfed. Any recommendations? I figure if you're going to spend the time and money to go there you might as well cover as much ground as possible.

I also have a place to stay in American Samoa. Not your typical South Pacific surf destination, but I know they have waves. Anybody ever been?

I know there's a bunch of stuff online, but personal testimonials always carry the most weight.

    Thanks!

I stayed at the rendevue surf and dive in Fiji back in 2005.... it was awesome. http://www.surfdivefiji.com/

Indo is the cheapest to stay in... I used Slim at Baliwaves.com to set everything up. It was easy, cheap, epic waves.

Only downside was Bali Belly for 48 hours haha.

Indo... best choice ever...but not in pacific ocean. You gotta spend some serious coin coming from the east coast to access many of the smaller islands in Pacific... with that same amount of money if not less you could easily go to Indo... but in Micronesia Palau, Pohnpei (dude P-Pass), and Kosrae (the new Pohnpei) are all good and have surf camps that are fairly well traveled by Aussies. Stay away from Guam and Saipan... either have access issues or likely no one will let you surf.
