same chit everywhere. the builders build then all the other services have to scramble to keep up. in OCMD they tear down a place that held 10 people then replace with a 500 occupancy building. then town officials wonder why sewer is backed up, power needs are beyond capacity, roads/parking is screwed and emergency services can't keep up. builders dollars/bribes rule the day then we gotta deal with it. always comes down to greed

You nailed it V. I remember when having a window fan was livin large. When I was a yout, if you complained about the heat me mum would give me a Popsicle and tell me to go for swim in the bay.
And governor Fat F@ck only caused an online riot. If the hundreds of thousands of people who pour in like a Mongol hoarde every weekend in South Jersey were told they had to go home, they'd have to call out the national guard.

    Spermbelly.

Wife of Spermbelly has a nice set of udders.

Ok, stupid question guys. Living in a place where we expect the King of Tsunamis any day now, almost all our residents keep generators for just such an occasion.

I've got to believe that OBX denizens have the same kind of mind frame, right?

They will have to if it is the legit nc law required offered trip ins. They have to offer. Should be fine. Mandatory evac, state of emergency.

People who decline it try to claim their own ins./credit card/etc. Will do the trick are totally screwed because of the nc law, so they hem and haw online about injustice.

Fact, get the offered ins. And get your money back. Otherwise not.

Fact, richest dbag liars are the least accepting of any slight discomfort, let alone monetary loss, they shout from the hilltops. Scum of the earth.

Should have purchased trip insurance! You were counseled, warned, encouraged, informed in detail, and it is cheap.

But they are cheaper, and wanted to save a buck. How's that workin' out for 'em now?

Well now, that just doesn't seem very wise at all considering that the place probably gets the brunt of the biggest gnarliest storms on the EC?

This is North Carolina we're talking about. They are way too worried about their public restrooms. Down here in Floridey almost everyone has a generator. And a gun.

You guys are funny some times. Talking about "roughing" it because you didn't have AC back in the day. Like its some sort of generational thing. I grew up without AC. Didn't have AC till a few years ago. Never had a dish washer. Lots of things i didn't have. It wasn't roughing it. It just was what it was. Thats life when you don't have much money.

Always comes down to a generational thing with you guys. Freaking funny.

WTF are you talking about? No one mentioned any generation thing. Just stating facts that most, if not all beach houses than have been built in the past 20 years have central air. Most, if not all houses that people lived and stayed in at the beach prior to the 80s had no AC.
Stop trying to defend yourself as a young tough guy. Feaking funny.

Relax guy. Barry said "roughing" it. My comment wasn't directed at you. Not having AC is not "roughing" it.

Whoops my bad, your right. No one mentioned any generational thing.

This is what my comment was directed at. Sorry you got upset about it. Now back to talking about what's going on in the OBX.

I actually agree with you about No AC is not roughing it. I just didn't know where the whole generation thing came up. If Barry was knocking your generation I didn't see it. You don't always need to defend yourself because of your generation's demasculated reputation. Most of the guys I work with are around your age. They work their azzes off in the brutal cold and stifling heat.
The topic here was the evacuation of OBX due to most houses being huge, energy gobbling monstrosities. The fact remains that back in the day most houses were small and didn't have AC.
And I'm as relaxed as you can get young fella. I'm on my deck drinking a Bloody Mary listening to the Rolling Stones "Stick Fingers" album. Hope you have a good Sunday.
