Vibe at Sebastian inlet / Spanish house is way mellower than NSB inlet.

Sebastian is a glorified closeout most of the time, for all the hype it gets at least. I'm gonna try and surf spanish House tomorrow. I can think of 5 spots better than Sebastian in NJ off the top of my head. I dont get why it gets so much attention.

its been kind of crappy as of lately. used to be a much better wave there. still fun wedges though that have a bit more punch then other places. what happened to first peak anyways??

yeah that must be it daniel..... Place closes out at over head high? and most of the waves are short and dumpy under that height anyway. Id much rather surf lined up spanish house. I'm just saying this place is so world renowned but it's really over hyped. It does have punch, it does get hollow, and it's rideable more than most of the other spots most of the time. But other than that, in the about 3 years I've been surfing there it hasnt impressed me. Also, the place is a total ****show with about 50 people consistently all over it when it gets above waist high.

read the latest issue of Surfer's Journal for your answer. Article about local photographers (bak in the day) shooting Seb. Inlet for the primary purpose of making the wave look better than it is to convince west coast Surfing readers that Florida had legit waves. Guess what...hype works!
