I'm thinking about heading out of the country for a month or so in March or April and am going to try to take an intensive Spanish immersion class while I am traveling. Everyplace seems to have classes, but it is pretty hard to figure out which ones are actually legit and worth doing, so I'm hoping somebody has some recommendations. I'll probably hit Central America because it's warm and the waves should be pretty consistent, plus I've spent a fair amount of time traveling there before. However, I'm up for just about anywhere as long as it is north of Chile (don't want to deal with too much winter gear). Being close to the ocean would be ideal, but not completely necessary, as I'm doing this more to become closer to fluency than to surf. Has anybody taken Spanish immersion classes that they really liked, or have you heard of a good program from somebody else?
Yeah I lived in Costa for 9 months, right on the ocean. My deal gave me college credits for all the classes I took except one. There are a ton down there, as far as how legit they are I don't know. Mine definetly was but you need atleast a semester...
I already speak pretty well (I traveled for 6 months, but without class you can only learn so much) but want to make that final leap. The university programs are good but they tend to be spread over an entire semester. I'm looking for pretty hardcore immersion, the types with 6+ class hours a day. Numerous places offer them, but like I said, I can't really tell which ones are going to be good and give me the best results for my time/money.
