Have to hand it to Dabo. Its clear looking back, but man - his whole defensive line and pretty much half the second stringers on that line are one of the best ever assembled. And Dabo played babe in the woods all year... "Its Alabama and everyone else... we just want a shot and lets see what happens..." he knew the whole time that he had the best defense in the country. They kicked Bama's ass.

I hope he lights it up next year and challenges the bs NFL age rule. The NFL is ripe for an anti-trust lawsuit with the crap they pull

Easy there cowboy, the kid looks good and everything. Do you honestly believe a wiry 20 year old with 1 season of NCAA experience is actually ready to play in the NFL?

Who are you, I or the NFL to decide? I would argue playing against Alabama isn't that far from the pros. It's his body, let him and NFL scouts decide if he is too young to draft, not some stupid arbitrary age rule that essentially keeps the NFL free minor league system in place.

Also don't forget all the ridiculous rules to protect QB's now, you can't touch them so I think he'd be just fine. But again, my point is that he should be able to decide.

Did you guys see the XFL is going to relaunch and they are probably going to accept players that would normally be off limits due to NFL / NCAA rules? Since they aren't the NFL and don't have those same restrictions, they will be able to scoop up certain players that the NFL can't, at least on short term contracts. So no waiting time in college, plus they can get players who might have to sit out due to NCAA rules on transfers and such. You guys remember the XFL?

Personally, I don't think anybody should be considered for the top 4 playoff spots unless they play in a conference that has a conference championship. I also believe that those 4 teams should be conference champions, meaning they won their conference and conference championship game. I don't care which conferences, if they are Division 1 then they should all have an equal playing field. If the NCAA doesn't think certain schools are on that level, then perhaps they should move those teams to Division 2 football.

    Lol okay bruh

Pretty sure he wouldn't be drafted until at least the 4th round if the draft were happening tomorrow.

But he could have a heckuva year and put on 20 pounds during his sophomore season and move up considerably.

Most players will continue to hone their skills in the B leagues if they know that they will have a better chance of scoring bigger $$$.

I'm not sure that changing the current relationship between the NCAA and the NFL is what many wish it might be.

I remember when QB's would sit on the bench for 2-4 years before ever getting a sniff of the NFL playing field, and that was AFTER 4 years of college. The QB position is the highest leadership position on the team, it requires maturity, most of which lack till they are mid - late 20's or even early 30's.

ESPN’s Mike Greenberg asked NFL Draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. to weigh in. Kiper said:

“Trevor Lawrence would be the clear-cut No. 1. Yeah, Trevor Lawrence is elite. He’s super elite. He was coming in; he is right now. And Justyn Ross, another true freshman, really helped him out. (Travis) Etienne in the backfield, that veteran offensive line, all the pieces, (Tee) Higgins — tremendous pieces around Lawrence.

“But to do what he did, and think about 30 touchdowns and four picks, OK? Go back to the last five or six games, no interceptions. Go back to the money games. He’s at 66 percent, Greeny. Trevor Lawrence would be up there in that rarefied air, that stratosphere of the Andrew Lucks and the John Elways and all these super, super elite quarterbacks.”

I respectfully disagree he would fall to the 4th round.

2 of the 4 quarterback left in the playoffs are under 25....maturity can't be measured by age. Just look at fungus....

I would draft him and make him sit behind a future HOF QB who is on his way out. Give him a year or two to mature and then he'll be lights out in the NFL. He definitely has the "it factor".

I don't disagree, there are going to be exceptions to the rule, and more and more these QB's are coming out of college NFL ready, but the # of guys who could come straight from High School or even after 1 year of college and be successful year 1 in the NFL is very small.

Not arguing that the percentage is small. It is in every sport. There are generational talents that come along, the NFL is just the only league to block them playing when they become adults.

If there was no age limit a bunch of young guys would come in and fail and it would make teams very picky about wasting draft picks on such young guys, just like it has in the NBA. Most guys would go to college anyway but the guys that could make the money wouldn't be blocked because of their age. Let the free market decide if they are ready to play. The NFL is anything but a free market.

I don't have a problem with the NFL drafting them young. But I think you'll see most of them sit their 1st year if they come out straight from high school or 1 year of college, because they haven't finished developing physically. But if you see someone who you can build your franchise around then it could be a long-term investment. Don't rush them once on the team, build them up first.
