More rules give more opportunities to steer the game at a critical junction of game. How many BS roughing passer calls happen at ends of game?
Hate to do it, but have to agree with you here. McVay won't be ready for what Belichick has in store for them.
It would seem that way, until you realize how much better the NFC is than the AFC. The NFC is a gauntlet compared to the powder puffs the Pats deal with. The joke division they are in, the Chargers in NE-please, and then of course there is Andy Reid...easy street. Im leaning towards the Rams.
Good work, and had you of laid down your bet in Vegas at the beginning of the year you’d be looking at a very nice pay out I’m sure.
the roughing the passer call was one of the softest in the history of the league. you cannot call that in a regular game, you should be fired for calling it in a playoff game.
If I had laid down $$$ at the beginning of the year, we'd probably be watching a Jets-Cardinals SB. I'm horrible at gambling money
Lol I was wondering when it was coming. Man your boys looked good and Chelsea looked like crap. Go win for the Gunners, we'll be fighting for that 4th spot it looks like.
I usually marvel at how often the zebras actually get it right, especially the close ones. They are real professionals. But man, how the eff do you miss that pass interference call. That's more than a travesty, it's a tragedy
I coached youth baseball for years. Seen plenty of umpiring issues. I used to tell the kid not to let a umps mistakes change the outcome. Score all the runs you can, make all the plays, that way when the inevitable happens it wont change the outcome. The Saints kicked two FGs inside the 10. Score TDs and thre refs screw up doesnt cost you. Take care of what you can control!
Totally agree, the call was horrible but the Saints also got the ball first in OT. Handle your biz like Brady always does in OT and no one will remember the terrible call.
So, since I couldn’t care less, I have taken a contrarian view. There is little to no chance that pass was going to be completed (sure anything is possible but super small probability). It was either a pick six, deflection, or lay the guy out with a slightly early hit! To call that and give them an automatic first down to win the game off of penalty....on the near 0 chance of a reception (of which, would not have resulted in first down) seems weak to me.

Maybe. Or maybe not. Maybe just a coincidence that 2 teams move to LA last year (2 teams that LA couldn't care less about), both of which make the playoffs with 1 team going to the Super Bowl. Maybe the NFL sees the long term picture as the LA market is much larger than a short term revenue slide of 1 single game. They're trying to drum up interest, after all. That's how the big players think
