I've only been able to surf about once a week for the last few weeks, maybe less. Since I surf year round, I don't usually have a problem with consistency but the last handful of sessions, my whole session has sucked. I've been surfing for fifteen years, so I know it happens sometimes but I'm getting pretty frustrated at this point. I've been mostly riding my 7'8" but decided to bring out my 8'3" tonight and still only managed to paddle into a few. I've stayed in surf shape, and my pop ups are solid, but I can't seem to select and paddle into the waves I want - or someone else is on it. Even on the days when I am getting great rides, I'm only getting two or three at most. Staying to the inside has only marginally helped. My boyfriend told me to take out my short board, but that seems counterintuitive. Not sure if I should take a break for a week or so and clear my head....

If this is for real, and there's a .0001% chance that it is, but if it IS... I've found that bodysurfing teaches me how to pick my waves and spots. Here in Galveston, perhaps the world capital of wind choppe, picking your waves and spots is almost everything. When bodysurfing, one must be in the EXACT spot on the exact chunk of wind choppe, or it's NADA. Just my 2 pesos. Your pal, Paulie in G-Town
Take a cooking course. Get back to your roots, your DNA is keeping you from surfing better....get back to the kitchen.
I hope this person wasn't/isn't a troll. Imagine just stumbling in here, after having a spat with your hubby, kids been mouthing off... innocently needed to vent about your surf slump and KAPOW!!! That would be focking awesome!!! Infarctions fer erbody!!! It would be like Oprah!!!
Dear SurfinLady, I wasn't tryna move in on your dude when I said I was your pal. Even though my friendly neighbor lady is presently under the care of the Texas Dept of Corrections, I still ain't flirtin. Just go have fun. It'll all work out. Oh! If you have medical concerns, you've come to the right place. Speakin of which... Watch out for that dang talcum powder. Now they're sayin if you powder the coochie, you're liable to get Bavarian cancer or somethin. That would be worse than a bad day surfin. I reckon. Your pal, Paulie in Galveston
Only way to break out of a surf funk is to surf more. **** sessions can only be remedied by good sessions so get back out there. And remember, we are here for you whenever your bf is being a cockhead. If you need to get back at him just go ahead and...
