http://www.barbadossurfingassociation.org Not the best quality feed, but still at my favorite wave on my favorite island! GO KNOX HARRIS!!!
It's too bad they've only got a short period marginal trade wind swell from the SE... wish they had a back-up venue at South Point.
Yeah, got back late Tuesday night. Caught the macking swell on Friday and it held pretty well through Monday. The one that should be filling in today through tomorrow would be fun as hell--TAKE ME BACK!!!
Connor Lester (WB, Sweetwater) ripped the freaking bag out of his heat! DJ's spinning some old school Jungle, take'n me way back. nynj: I think it's going to be a really good winter of swell down there. Hell, never thought I would catch solid North Swell DOH Wilderness in early/mid November.... but I did! The jury is out, but I think I rode the biggest wave of my life. May have taken bigger peaks, but never anything that held the size through the whole wave like that.
I think there are some decent shops to rent from, but I've always brought boards with me down there. Dead or Dread on the South (near Oistins) side is a cool shop that does board rentals and IIRC they have good boards. There are probably a couple more good ones, but DOD is the only shop I've actually been in on the island. I do know you will only find rentals on the South side or around Bridgetown--the East and North sides are rural so make sure you get boards right when you get off the plane (airport is on that part of the island too) if you're not staying in that area.
Finals day with a proper medium-sized North swell. Soup Bowl working its magic on the bigger sets... tide's a little low right now.
Yeah...some solid ones coming through. Nice to see the kids having to scratch to get outside every few minutes. Definitely some bowly ones!
