Is it an endless battle to buy one on the cheap? Its been a year now and i havent found anything. I dont have 1 or 2k to drop on a fancypants board. I like surfing alot better, but flat days f'all. Still like to keep moving. And drain it if you think i should post in a different forum topic. Your search criteria comes up with nothing

nothing wrong with being in or on the ocean. Everything about the ocean is a way to stay connected to who you are. go get one on the cheap and have fun.

Any local SUP/surf schools selling off their old boards? They do that here.
New soft top SUP by Greco is $500, when in stock. I don't know much about the durability of their products.

Sad to say, but Costco has decent ones that are epoxy. Plus the SUP wavestorm isn't bad.

If you do surf, I would strongly recommend getting a performance sup surf. I started riding sup surf style boards a few years ago because of how fickle our waves can be on the gulf and I get a lot more riding then even with a long board. Not to mention I have knee issues and on a sup surf, I can stay out much longer and not need to wear a knee brace afterwards. I started on an intermediate sup surf board and progressed through it quickly and ended up buying a better performance board. I picked up a used Starboard for 800 from someone that never surfed and bought an advanced sup surf and only took it out twice. I still prefer traditional surfing and opt for that when conditions are good. But like I said, I'd rather be riding a wave no matter how big or small, then not riding. And my wave count goes up drastically. Just my 2 cents

Any person over 16, who has the means to surf, should have no problem saving $1000 in a whole year.

You should not buy a SUP
If you're gonna do that, atleast cut your testicles off first.
