What deflection? How am I deflecting? You brought up the Russians, and I reminded you that your hero thought so little of a Russian threat that he poo-poo'd the notion during an election. I'm not deflecting, you just have a problem waffling back and forth on whatever your party dictates. FWIW, I believe Trump made a sloppy but concerted effort to win an election. Your problem is the ability to recognize 3 main things: 1) Russian interference did not affect Hillary's chances. She was dead on arrival because she was a horrible candidate. 2) Russians have been interfering with other country's elections for over 70 years. But for some reason, you act as if this is something completely new and threatening. 3) It's already been proven that Hillary's campaign was up to their necks in Russian bullshittery, as well as stealing elections from Bernie and coordinating efforts with the media to make her appear believable as a candidate. But I'm sure you don't remember any of that, right. Troll Clown
Not that I really give a fock but I find it funny that this EDK guy and Shredman both only seem to come out of the woodwork on these ghey political forums. Interested to see how many surfing-related posts they have. At least guys like Archy, Fungus, etc post on surfing stuff.
True dat I didn't vote for Trump and I've never liked or trusted him. But this Russian crap is the height of hypocrisy and, especially, deflection. The desperate grasping for anything to explain an election loss that seemed pre-destined is obviously agonizing for edk. So stop deflecting, edk, and answer the real question: Most of us here (including me) believe Trump colluded to win the election. Do you believe that Russian trolls posing as real Americans and posting anti-Hillary propaganda on the internet somehow influenced enough moderate voters to switch their vote from Hillary or Bernie to Trump? Is your intellect capable of recognizing how ridiculous that sounds? Keep on trolling bruh. I'm sure it's probably your main source of income. Maybe *you're* a Russian lol
If I run for president, I will absolutely release my tax returns, hell I'll even release my credit reports if it means that the constituency knows that I'm working for them and not for my own personal/business gains. I will not release them as a SI member because my posts on here (or on twitter) do not have a global impact. See the difference?
The dude is a billionaire, you really think he needs anymore money? Especially at his age? He didn't need to become President to become wealthy, he did that already. Plus, name me a President that hasn't benefited from being President, even those that released their taxes. It's funny, people want their politicians to be smooth speaking intellectual types, like Obama or Clinton, but what they don't realize is they get just as screwed if not MORE screwed over than the guy who is upfront and direct with their policies. The smooth talkers get you to like bad policies because they can deliver them in such a non abrasive tone. It's like telling someone to eat their broccoli when they hate broccoli but because they said it nicely you eat it and "like it". They'd rather it sound good as they get bent over. People think if someone is willing to release their taxes that they are going to be an honest representative of the people. Give me a break. A major reason Trump got elected is because people were tired of these smooth talking politicians taking advantage of the American people and ruining our country in the process. They say, "oh he's not Presidential". Yeah, but at least he does what he says he's going to do, and his policies actually make sense! "Oh, he must be hiding something" since he won't release his taxes. Yeah, just like Obama or those that came before him didn't hide anything lol Face it, no President in history has been perfect, this one is no different. We are talking about fallible human beings here. Any of youse that gets angry at Trump or thinks he's an idiot because he tells a reporter "stupid question" or says something else rude or abrasive, just stop paying attention to the personality and focus on his policies, which are in fact, making America Great Againe.
A presidents tax history has ZERO effect on global anything. That is a myth.. It also says nothing about his/hers talent as a administrator of a nation. zero. Nada.
It's really non of my concern, affects me zero, and doesn't change his policies. Again, all that should matter is policy.
How do you know for sure that his personal financial interests do not effect his policies? Since he's already rich that means he does not want to make more money?
If making a little money is the byproduct of making America Great Againe, I honestly could care less. My paycheck went up and so did millions of other Americans. I'm sure most everybody is happy about that.
You're right, it's a possibility that his returns could link him to something unpresidential. But in reality, it's equally as plausible that any other President has just as much dirty laundry hidden in their taxes. I could name names, but I'm sure you understand the facts. These guys are rich and have lots of investments and dealings that are handled by expert consultants. All of them. I believe the biggest issue with Trump is that the media was howling like a cat in heat about him before he was even elected. Any prudent person already knows that the opposition will find something, anything, and turn up the volume as yet another reason to impeach him and set him up for removal from office. If the dems knew everything about Russia beforehand, you can bet your ass they already know that Trump cooks his books. That's why they pushed so hard to begin with. But saying Trump is beholden to Russia is like saying the Clinton's are beholden to China and whoever else contributed to the Clinton Foundation.
I hear both of these arguments loud and clear, and I agree to an extent. I'm honestly just trying to understand as many sides as I can, and I appreciate everyone for engaging with me and answering my questions.
