https://www.yahoo.com/news/2-women-stranded-sea-were-183751821.html Anyone see this? Their engine failed. Stranded out to sea for 5 months. Do you think it crossed their minds to raise the sail and use the wind..?!?
Yeah I saw the story. 2 "chicks" and a couple of dogs (canines, not the "chicks" lol) IIRC. Obviously no semenship skills, attempting open ocean journeys in a sailboat and they use the crappy little motor until it died. Maybe they didn't really want to be rescued? Something smells fishy
I saw that and said to my wife, "I call bullsh!t." They were hanging out in some tropical port of call gettin' loose.
The Pacific is HUGE. It covers like 30% of the earths total area. Them being found alive was a miracle. Good on ya, USCG!
"They lived off a year's supply of pasta and oatmeal " Huh?, the one on the left looks like she could cut back on carbs.... " the dogs gave them a reason to keep going. " and notice all the peanut butter is gone....hmmmm
They said they didn't think they could last another 24 hours. Um, what!? If they were gnawing on their dog's bones upon rescue, I'd tend to agree with them, but they looked like they just set sail from an all inclusive resort in Cabo.
i thought i saw it was a Taiwanese fishing boat or sumtin. not trying to put the USCG down, but pretty sure it wasn't them that found these ladies. i do remember the girls saying they weren't prepared and one saying she's never sailed before (guessing that's alone, but i wouldn't put it past her from the sound of it)
