Study Abroad Australia Vs. New Zealand (which has better surf)

    once i bought a holden 'HD' there for A$490 and sold it 6 months/6K miles later for $450.....also don't worry
    about driving on the other side of the road; you'll pick it up easy....

    You should also consider University of Otago in Dunedin, NZ. That's where I studied abroad and it is awesome! Plenty of options ranging from beach breaks, point breaks, river mouths, rock bottom, etc. And you will be surfing perfect, barreling, uncrowded surf with your bros! Get away from Auckland - the south island is where it's at! Check out Aramoana (aka Spits Beach) and Murderers Beach.

    You will definitely need a car to get around New Zealand and explore the country. It will give you the ultimate freedom that just isn't possible with the limited public transportation. Chip in with your roommates for a good runner that will last the 5 months you are there (we bought an old station wagon for $750 that did great).

    Australia is only a short plane ride away. You can also book a multi-day layover in Fiji on your flight back (like I did for 6 days). Message me if you want some more info.

    was just out there for a spring semester around the same area. you'll find some fun waves around for sure. I surfed manly the one day, it wasn't epic but it was a lot of fun. image.jpg
