Don't try to make it sound so legit.
You really want some of that student lomo to pay for some juice and I don't mean orange juice.
    Hey man, goforit.
I'm not recommending anything cause I can't live with guilt.

I studied abroad in Oz at the University of Queensland in Brisbane. Great campus with a lot of talent but access to surf is tough unless you have a car. Even with a car I think it's 45 mins to the nearest waves because of Moreton and N. Stradbroke islands.

I had a friend that studied at Bond University on the Gold Coast which was insane. I think it was a few miles from Burleigh.

Bilbao, Spain is where I went and I'd recommend it 100% all the time. It's a half hour train ride from the city to the beach. The surf is consistent. (Ever heard of Mundaka?) The people are amazing. The parties are wild. The food is from another planet. You have to know a little bit about the history of the Basque Region to understand the culture but suffice it to say that people there don't like the government. There's lots of anarchy symbols, Che Guevera and Bob Marley t-shirts, and lots of hash being smoked everywhere, all the time. If I was going to live outside the US that's where it would be.

New Zealand. Check out Christchurch. Auckland and Wellington are too far from the good stuff.
