Summer 2011 predictions???

A positive comment about summer surf. Hmmm. That's a hard one. I dunno man.

 

well a bad economy equals less vacationers and less crowded lineups....

 

Poor economy means people arent flying anywhere, theyre driving to the closest beach. NJ (For PA & NYers) Beach towns are going to make a fukicin killing this summer!!

 

Summer always sucks, lineups are swamped with idiots and its flat anyway

 

my positive comment about summer...it ENDS! & when it does, fall is right around the corner, which = no more summer kooks & empty line-ups again, & the best surf of the year!


in all seriousness, i don't really mind summer. yea, its flat a lot, but when there are waves, you can still find relatively empty line-ups w/ a little effort. & i really do emphasize the word "little". it doesn't take a whole lot of trying to score w/ only a few others in the water.

 

it was a good swell here today.how about we think spring first,please?

 

its going to snow this summer with radioactive fallout...

 

man today felt like summer even though the water was cold (55) in SENC but the crowds were so bad for not that fun waves even though i surfed 2 hours but those 2 hours were on a foamboard. but i got dropped in on at least 3X's and 2 of those ppl wanted to call me out when i had the peak. i can already tell this summer is gonna be a bad summer with tourists.

 

I have no interest in Summer Loving it right now wish water would stay 40 and the South swells keep coming..I dread the end of May..Trying to savor every session from now till then..
As far as my prediction for summer in NJ more crowded than ever SUP's will be at everyone's break this summer! Seeing them out in March is not a good sign of things to come.. To be brutally Honest I hope its flat from June till Sept.
To sum up summer surf in NJ I AM OVER IT!

this summer is goin to be off the chains...so many DOH days you won't be able to get enough rest between swells...only problem is, is you'll have to be 6 inches tall to score...start shrinkin' m*therf*ckers!

 

Doesn't anyone have anything positive to say anymore? Yeah it's crowded at the surf beaches but thats why you surf at the crack of dawn and night. How often is the surf good in the middle of the day? Everyone knows the onshores pick up at 11 pretty much every day. At least the bbq is good and the beer is cold.

at first i was wondering why you're thinking summer when it wasn't even spring yet.
but since one of your three options asked in your initial post was 'descent',yes,it will definitely and defiantly be descent,guaranteed,descent into tiny,weak,mushy,crowded with gay lifeguards blowing their brains out whistling at us with hands on hips to move wherever they say and fat beach badge checkers harrassing us when all we want to do is surf.that kind of descent

 

Jerz is what it is; small inconsistent surf so please ease up summer "kooks" and just move to SoCal if your that good. I spent last winter in SoCal and literally hit it every day of the week-- even the bad days there would be considered "stellar" on the east.
Surfing is a passion so let the new guys learn in the summer and share the stoke--thats what I have to say about that..

 

I hope it to be a good summer , As much as I love the solitude of winter surfing I cant wait for it to warm up . Dawn Patrol Session then come back to the beach tent sleep til noon and chill with friends on the beach and surf late afternoon til sundown
